Report cards will be sent home tomorrow. Be sure to look over your child’s report with them and discuss their successes and areas for improvement. Have a happy weekend!
Writing, writing, and more writing!
We have been doing lots of writing so far this year. We have been working on the construction of a simple paragraph, which culminated in a paragraph about the job each student would like to have when they’re grown. Last week we also worked on our writing and communication skills by interviewing classmates. Check out the pictures of some of our future journalists!
Welcome to a new year in Room 24
Once again we have started a new year with new students and a new name! Our former Room 35 has been renamed Room 24 and with it a new batch of eager third graders has been welcomed. We hit the ground running and are now fully up and running with all our subjects, schedules, and routines. We do a lot during a typical week, so check back frequently to see what we are up to. We’re looking forward to a great year in Room 24!!!!
Reminder–PTO fundraiser continues this week and next…we hope all students can participate!!
Busy Week
Wow! It has been quite the week in Room 35. We said goodbye to Mrs. Pisors and hello to Mrs. Jones. We had a school wide spring sing on Monday. On Tuesday we had an all day Public Works presentation where we got to learn about our community. Wednesday we had our final DIBELS test of the year and went to a Table Rock presentation. We went and saw the kids from Jacksonville put on their wonderful musical “Aristocats” at the Britt Gardens on Thursday. We rounded the week out by walking to Central High to see our annual Jefferson Talent Show, where many members of our class were showcased. It was a super fun and busy week!
Remember on Tuesday we will hike Table Rock, so come prepared for our final field trip of the year. Next Friday night is third grade’s annual Come Back Night 5-8 pm. Pizza, games, and fun for third grade only!
It was great to be welcomed back by the smiling faces of Room 35 this week. I know it was sad to say goodbye to Mrs. Pisors, but it was wonderful to hear all the AMAZING things she had to say about our students!
Room 35 students are finishing a PowerPoint this week on a continent that they researched. Can they tell you any interesting information about their research?
Patriotic Program
Our Third Grade Patriotic Program was a great success! We appreciate our families coming to our program to support our fabulous performers. The students learned lots of songs and memorized speaking parts to perform at our program. Great job third graders! (Unfortunately, I didn’t get a lot of pictures because we were so busy that night. Check out the few I got!)
